BAR SOAPS

Ivory

Sodium tallowate - Made from sodium hydroxide (better known as caustic soda or lye), steam, and animal fat (tallow). This process, called saponification, breaks down the triglyceride (fat), frees the gylcerol, and produces a sodium salt, called sodium tallowate. (They do this in order to take the GLYCERINE OUT and only put back the desired amount! - WE LEAVE IT ALL IN!!)

Sodium Cocoate - The sodium salt of coconut oil. Together they are the major constituents of soap bars.

Sodium palmate - An alternative to Sodium Tallowate in soap production (Again, they remove it only to put back a small amount).

Sodium Palm Kernelate - AKA: Palm kernel acids, sodium salt; Fatty acids, palm kernel-oil, sodium salts.

Glycerol - Also commonly called glycerin or glycerine, it is a sugar alcohol, and is sweet-tasting and of low toxicity. It is a chemical compound that is a colorless, odorless, viscous liquid that is widely used in pharmaceutical formulations. (This is ONLY added in SMALL amounts to some soaps and only added to others if you buy soap that contains it.)

Sodium chloride - Also known as common salt, table salt and is most responsible for the salinity of the ocean.

PURE & NATURAL - (isn't)

Titanium Dioxide -In cosmetics and skin care products, titanium dioxide is used both as a pigment and a thickener.Titanium dioxide has recently been classified by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) as an IARC Group 2B carcinogen.

Tetrasodium etidronate - And disodium etidronate are used as a water softener in soaps to prevent soap scum and bathtub rings by locking up the calcium and magnesium in the water. Tetrasodium etidronate is a substance found in many personal care products that has the potential to cause adverse effects in people with eczema.

Sorbitol - Is a sugar alcohol that the body metabolizes slowly. It is used as a thickener.

Sodium Cocoate - Sodium salt of coconut oil. Together they are the major constituents of soap bars.

Sodium Palm Kernelate - AKA: Palm kernel acids, sodium salt; Fatty acids, palm kernel-oil, sodium salts.

Sodium palmate - An alternative to Sodium Tallowate in soap production. (They do this in order to take the GLYCERINE OUT and only put back the desired amount! - WE LEAVE IT ALL IN!!)

Glycerol - Commonly called glycerin or glycerine, it is a sugar alcohol, and is sweet-tasting and of low toxicity.

In one gram of sodium chloride, there are approximately 0.3933 grams of sodium, and 0.6067 g of chlorine. NOTICE that there is twice as much Chlorine than Sodium in Sodium Chloride. Chlorine is an important chemical in water purification, bleach and in mustard gas. Plants and animals are not likely to store chlorine. However, laboratory studies show that repeat exposure to airborne chlorine can affect the immune system, the blood, the heart, and the respiratory system of animals. Chlorine in the drinking water is very dangerous as well. For more on Chlorine:

Pentasodium pentetate - (((carboxymethyl)imino)bis(ethylenenitrilo))tetraacetic acid, pentasodium salt. - What? Diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid is a chelating agent that sequesters metal ions so they cannot combine with other ingredients in a product.
