Today we’re going to talk about laser hair reduction.
Do you want to significantly reduce the amount of facial or body hair you have permanently? Really who doesn’t? Laser hair reduction can accomplish just this. Our laser uses precise and more efficient light energy to yield the most accurate treatment and the best results, while the unique cooling technology calms the skin’s surface to maximize comfort and safety.
Though laser hair reduction is incredibly safe and effective, and the majority of patients do not experience any complications, it is still a medical procedure and does involve a certain amount of risk.
So, what are the possible risks and complications of laser hair reduction?
Resistance to Treatment: Since every individual is unique, it is difficult to guarantee the specific number of treatments needed. It is expected that body hair can be significantly reduced in 4-6 treatments, and facial hair can be reduced in 6-8 treatments. However, this will not be the case for everybody, and you may require more treatments than we initial estimate depending on your skin tone, and the color and coarseness of your hair.
Localized Reactions: Although uncommon, you may experience a sunburned feeling, redness, local tenderness, or mild swelling. More severe reactions, though exceedingly rare, can include pigmentation changes, blistering and scarring.
So is laser hair reduction for you?
Have not waxed, plucked or bleached the area you plan on treating within the previous 6 weeks
Have not taken Accutane within the last 12 months
Do not have any infection which may be activated by the laser (Herpes Simplex, Lupus or Porphyria)
Do not have any active infections
Do not have a history of skin cancer
Are not allergic to typical anesthetics
Are not currently pregnant
Agree to stay out of the sun and use sufficient sun block for 2-4 weeks after your treatment
Then really, what are you waiting for?
